People have all kinds of pets, from the usual cats and dogs to birds and even snakes. But Kira’s story is truly unique. Kira is a wolf.
When Kira was just three days old, she was abandoned by her mother. Alida decided to take her in and raise her, giving the young wolf a chance at life.
Raising a wild animal like a wolf was no easy task. Wolves are wild by nature, and taming Kira took a lot of patience and care.
Alida worked hard every day, giving Kira the attention she needed to feel safe and loved.
Over time, with Alida’s constant effort, Kira began to act more like a dog. She became calm and non-threatening, living peacefully in her home without harming anyone.
However, Kira could never survive in the wild, as she never learned to hunt and has been fed by hand since birth.
When Alida first brought Kira into her home at 28 days old, she was determined to help Kira socialize.
She introduced Kira to many people, children, and other dogs.
Alida took Kira to different places so she could get used to new sounds and smells, as wolves are naturally afraid of unfamiliar things, a behavior known as neophobia.
It was a tough process, but it was necessary for Kira to live comfortably in a human environment.
As Kira grew older, there were challenges, but with time, she became well-adjusted.
Now, Kira is calm and gentle around people and children.
She never acts aggressively, even when other dogs try to provoke her.
If a child is scared or upset, Kira will respectfully move away.
Alida is proud of how far Kira has come. She is no longer afraid of the world around her.
Alida’s son, Bogdan, is 7 years old, and Kira has become very close to him.
People are often curious about what it’s like to have a wolf in the house, especially with a young child, and many ask to take pictures with Kira.
Although some people write negative things about wolves online, Alida feels that Kira is a sweet and loving animal.
She enjoys sharing their journey on Instagram, where she posts more about Kira’s life.
Alida deserves credit for all the care and effort she’s put into raising Kira.
