The happiest puppy is wagging her tail non-stop as she walks out of the shelter

There are always many lovable animals in shelters, but sometimes one dog stands out from the rest.

Matilda was a special little dog at the Douglas County Animal Shelter. The staff there quickly noticed her bright and cheerful personality. Despite everything she had been through, Matilda was always happy and wagging her tail. Her story was truly remarkable, considering her rough start in life.

When Matilda was just two months old, she was found wandering the streets of Georgia. At that time, her health wasn’t in the best shape, but she never let it stop her from showing how joyful she was. She kept wagging her tail, and that little act of happiness was a big part of her charm.

Santina Sanders, a volunteer at the shelter, shared with The Dodo how Matilda would give the sweetest, most loving kisses.

Soon, it wasn’t just the shelter staff who noticed her wonderful personality. Pibbles & More Animal Rescue also saw the special spark in Matilda. Teresa Bowles-Chiofalo, one of the coordinators for the rescue group, grew very attached to her. She made the decision to adopt Matilda and give her a forever home.

When the day came for Matilda to leave the shelter, she was so excited that her tail didn’t stop wagging the entire ride home. It was clear she was overjoyed to be going to her new family.

The only thing Matilda isn’t too fond of is wearing a collar. The moment her new adopter put the collar on her, her tail stopped wagging for a moment. But despite this small dislike, Matilda loves her new home and is settling in happily with her new family.
