Devoted dog stays by mom’s side after rescuing her

Dogs are known for their loyalty, and it’s hard to find anyone who loves us more than they do. A recent photo shared online beautifully showcases this loyalty and love.

In the image, a service dog can be seen staying right by her mom’s side in the hospital, refusing to leave. This story begins with Shauna Darcy realizing just how much her dog, Ruby, could help her. Shauna struggled with severe anxiety, and Ruby was always there to support her.

Ruby and Shauna formed a deep bond and became best friends. Ruby wasn’t just a service dog; she was Shauna’s true companion.

Shauna noticed that Ruby could detect changes in her body, like irregular heartbeats, and would act differently when something was wrong. Ruby became a real-life guardian angel, constantly looking out for Shauna’s health.

Shauna suffers from vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, so Ruby often checked her heart rate and blood pressure. When panic attacks struck, Ruby was there to help. And when Shauna fainted, Ruby would try to wake her by licking and jumping on her.

One day, Ruby behaved strangely, signaling that something was wrong. Although Shauna didn’t know exactly what was happening, she called her doctors, who confirmed Ruby’s warning. Shauna was in atrial fibrillation, and if the doctors had arrived any later, she might have lost consciousness.

Ruby’s quick action saved Shauna’s life.

Even after the crisis, Ruby refused to leave Shauna’s side, staying with her in the hospital. Shauna believes the bond they share is what kept her alive.

Without Ruby, Shauna might not be here today, an incredible testament to the love and loyalty of dogs.
