Baby elephant causes a traffic jam as it grabs sugarcane from trucks driving by

Elephants are well-known for loving sugarcane, but few would expect them to go this far to get it.

A tourist captured a surprising moment when a young elephant blocked traffic to help itself to sugarcane from passing trucks.

This curious event took place on a highway in Thailand. The young elephant, named Auan-tia, usually lived in a nearby wildlife reserve. Drivers, amused by the scene, decided to let the elephant take what it wanted.

For the next few hours, Auan-tia stopped over 10 trucks, helping itself to the sweet treat before heading back into the jungle.

While the sight was adorable, no one was brave enough to challenge such a powerful animal. After searching several vehicles, Auan-tia let the cars pass by at their own pace.

Elephants are often seen in these areas, and while they are typically friendly, it’s important for drivers to always be cautious around them.
