Sook Jai, a 73-year-old elephant, endured a painful life. For most of her years, she was kept indoors, mistreated, and forced to endure cruel treatment. When she was finally rescued, she appeared extremely worn out. Despite her large size and strength, she, too, felt pain and sadness.
